"Remains of what used to be a district primarily populated by muslim immigrants. Sometime between 2019 and 2020 I would often just walk around here. It was also my first time being stopped and confronted by law enforcement about loitering and trespassing (which, ironically, I wasn't doing)
The last time I saw the mosque building intact, a large message written in black graffiti on the side was left, saying "GOODBEY."" (Misspelling included)
"Inside the walls of the parking lot under the apartment complex that would be built in place of the district during construction.
I once drove past a similar mid-construction apartment complex that was being given the finishing touches and paint jobs on the outside.
On the side of one of the towers, somebody had painted a big smiley face in the same colour of paint that would then cover the rest of the tower and camoflage the smiley face for good.
Most people who will actually live there, whose lives will actually revolve around those apartments will never know about any of it, they will never see or know about the smiley face, or of the pipes and infrastructure inside the walls."
"Walking among the ground floor of the complex that was formerly where the muslim district stood.
Long after the people who used to be here had left, and long before the people who would come to stay here would arrive
This is why I started urban exploration originally.
